Meet Michelle: A nanny and babysitter in Crib Point, VIC

Hello families!

I am an experienced carer with over 30 years of hands-on childcare experience, supported by a diploma in early childhood education and ongoing professional development training to stay current with best practices. I am passionate about supporting children’s growth and development, with a strong understanding of developmental milestones and individual needs. I am happy to incorporate healthy eating into daily routines, encourage curiosity through nature-based activities, encourage creativity, and outdoor exploration. I am reliable, warm, and patient, I always prioritise creating a safe and nurturing environment where children can thrive. I am happy to assist with light household chores to support busy families and committed to building trusting relationships with both children and parents. I am a parent and understand the importance of care being a fun time for the children but also the need to have your children in the care of a confident and insightful carer. Being trusted with your children's care is a privilege for me that I don't take lightly, I always place safety first. During care I am happy to leave a diary for parents to read and be a part of their child's time in my care. I won't photograph children without parents' permission, and even then, it will only be to share moments whilst you are away, and I avoid spending time on my phone unnecessarily whilst I am present to your family. I genuinely enjoy spending time with little ones and each of my visits will have intentional activity ideas no matter the age of children...and of course plenty of unstructured play!

Throughout my career I have worked from centres, private nannying, overseas with 12 preemies in my care and also Family Day Care, and 3 years as a teacher's aide. I am confident to support families with neurodiversity and integrated health.

Another passion I hold dear is to support new families with newborn care or sibling support during the first months postpartum.
