Meet Tracey: A nanny and babysitter in Fitzroy North, VIC

Hello parents,

I'm a mature, calm and vibrant experienced child carer who has a lifelong passion for working with children.

From an early age, I discovered my love for caring for babies and children under the age of 5 working as a part time baby sitter in my hometown of Castlemaine. I worked in child care centres throughout my 20's, before transitioning into a career as a professional musician, alongside raising two wonderful sons who are now 29 and 21.

Over the years, I’ve remained deeply involved in caregiving, taking care of my niece's and I would say I have my head around the 'girl thing" too, knowing every Taylor Swift tune ever recorded! I've worked in Aged Care as a Lifestyle Activities Person over the years and also as a Disability Support worker.

I have been a regular nanny now since 2020 including a family of three children under the age of six, a family of teens, and more recently caring on a permanent basis for a one year old boy and part time for numerous babies under 2.

I strive to create a nurturing, fun environment where children feel safe and engaged.

I believe in the importance of routine, ensuring children are well-rested, comfortable, clean and happy. I enjoy incorporating creativity into daily activities, whether through reading, music, arts and crafts, puzzles, or imaginative play - I excel at being silly!

With my background in music, I'd say I'm a proficient lullaby singer and love to teach songs to children and use music as a calming tool.

I'm also an experienced cook and very happy to make hearty healthy meals and nurture the family, household duties are fine also, as I work best in a clean and tidy space.

I'm an animal lover, nature lover and gardener, I study horticulture on Wednesdays and happy to weed with the children.
