We are a warm, supportive and inclusive family seeking a reliable Nanny/Family Assistant to help with our school-age children (5yo daughter, and 10 yo son with Autism) and light household responsibilities.
We are looking for a nanny who is
- Caring and has a patient nature, with an understanding of or willingness to learn about autism and sensory needs
- Positive attitude and proactive
- Be able to engage in fun, silly and imaginative play with the children
- Organised and detail-oriented, with excellent hygiene standards.
- Experience working with children with additional needs is a bonus, but not mandatory, and references if available.
- Ability to work independently with initiative.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record (family car will be provided for work use).
- Ability to commit long-term or at least 12months.
Duties:
- School drop-offs and pick-ups.
Eaglemont to Bundoora ~ 20min/8.4km.
Hours: Monday - Friday 7:30am-9am, 2:15pm-5pm (commute time to school will be covered)
- Providing attentive after-school care including heating up and serving/ feeding meals
- Setting up simple snacks for the kids.
- Assisting with light housework including doing some dishes, kids laundry, tidying up living area, kids rooms/ changing sheets
- Being proactive in organising or assisting with tasks to help the family's daily routine run smoothly
Both parents are professionals - Doctor and Engineer/CEO of an Australian business. We have been fortunate to have had wonderful nannies over the years, most of whom have stayed with us long-term or moved on to pursue their careers.
This is a long-term role with a kind and welcoming family.
We can offer a competitive hourly rate (to be discussed based on experience), with opportunities to earn more through additional duties for those who are interested and willing.
*Hourly rate: around $30.
*Family car will be provided, alternatively fuel charges will be reimbursed if using your own car (as long as we have confirmed that it meets our safety requirements).
