Job Details: Part-time

$35 per hour

I am looking for a caring and reliable babysitter for my 8 year old daughter, who has travelled the world, and is very sophisticated for her age. She is also at times very strong headed. So, a babysitter in early 20’s range, in my opinion, always works best for her, as she relates better to this age group.

I am currently a single mum while living in Melbourne, and my daughter and I have recently relocated from New York. I grew up here, and am currently enrolled in university in the city. I am hoping to find someone kind, dependable, and consistent who can become an important part of our support system.

The position will begin on Thursday, February 19. It will involve getting my daughter ready for school, dropping her off at Fitzroy North Primary in the morning, and picking her up after school. This schedule must remain consistent for 12 weeks, finishing on Thursday, May 7. These days and times are essential, due to my classes, and that I anm unable to do school drop off or pickup myself on Thursdays. I would like to arrange a paid trial first to make sure it is a good fit for everyone.

Beyond this, I am also looking for someone who may be available at other times on various days during the week. This part of the role would be more flexible rather than on a fixed schedule. We can work out what suits both of us if it feels like the right fit.

Must have experience, and references that can be provided, and preferably close by to Fitzroy where we currently live.

Thank you, and I look forward to hearing from you.

We are open to a live-in arrangement and on offer we have a bedroom available with a queen bed, TV, unlimited wifi and lots of streaming subscriptions, direct access to a bathroom shared with the kids and food provided (including evening meals with the family). A live in arrangement might suit an au pair from overseas or a local university student who might be looking for CBD accommodation. For a live out arrangement we are also open to splitting the role casually or part-time between two people. We currently have an au pair living with us who is great, and is finishing up at the start of April.

We live in Richmond, though it's more like Cremorne, and we have a baby who is 7 weeks old (as at December 21) and a son who is 3.5. I'm looking for someone to arrive early - 6am - on his daycare days (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday) and help me get him ready for daycare and then walk him up to daycare. Once my son is dropped at daycare, I'm hoping you can come back to our house and do an hour or two of housework including clothes washing or dish washing. The morning job would be about 6am - 10am.
In the evening, we're hoping someone can pick my son up from daycare, walk back to our house, and help me get dinner organised before bathing my son and prepping him for bed. The evening would be about 5pm - 7:30pm.

Hi there,

Our much-loved long-term babysitter is heading off on maternity leave at the end of April, so we’re on the lookout for a new regular babysitter to join our family!

A little about us:
We’re a family of five in Yarraville (just a 3-minute walk from the station). We have three girls — 8-year-old twins and a 4-year-old. They’re chatty, creative and full of energy. They love reading, craft, games and cartwheeling in the backyard. We’re a non-smoking household with no pets.

What we’re looking for:
An experienced, reliable babysitter who enjoys being active and engaging with kids, but is also confident managing afternoon routines.

Hours:
Monday, Tuesday & Thursday
3:30pm–6:30pm

Responsibilities include:
- School and kinder pick-up (both within walking distance)
- Supervising homework and lunchbox prep
- Light dinner prep
- Bath time
- General tidying

We’re hoping to find someone who can become a consistent, positive presence in our girls’ week. If this sounds like a good fit, we’d love to hear from you.
