My name is Amanda and my family and I live in West Pymble. We have 2 boys - aged 12 and 14 who attend school a short train ride away. We are looking for someone to work with us on weekdays both in the morning (6.30am to 8am) and afternoons (3.30pm to 6.30pm). The boys are pretty self sufficient and used to the routine. Role would involve keeping them on track in the morning, making them breakfast and lunchboxes and driving them to train station (occasional school drop off may be required around sports training schedules). Then picking them up from local train after school, making afternoon snacks and lunches for next day and driving/picking up from local sports activities a couple of times a week. Ideally we are looking for someone to start in Term 2 (June) and commit for the rest of the school year in 2025 (through to early December). Rate negotiable. We need someone in the mornings Monday through Friday and afternoons Monday through Thursday. May suit uni student around uni schedule (this has been our experience in the past). Pick up would be from school, and tbc what activities would be (will firm that up when she starts school) but it could play out like:
- picking her up to take to after school activities
- maybe she has a class onsite and you would need to pick up at 4, and ask would then be for you to perform some light household cleaning from 3-4
- potentially it may involve just taking care of her, taking her to park etc if no activity is on.
We sometimes also might ask you to pick her up plus one friend, as sometimes the parents in her class help each other out. If they were ever to happen it would always be only one kid - but just a heads up on that.

You will need a drivers licence and have a minimum of 2 years driving experience. The role will involve collecting the kids from school and/or the local bus stop. On some afternoons the kids have afternoon activities that you will need to help get them to and from. Otherwise, the role involves supervising the kids at home and preparing an easy dinner and helping to bath/shower our 5-year-old and get her ready for bed.
The job also involves light tidying up/keeping the house in order. Our son is a funny, highly intelligent and warm hearted teenager who experiences daily challenges due to his ASD and ADHD diagnosis. He is highly verbal and often enjoys in depth conversations. He can at times become highly anxious and require support to manage his concerns. He has no physical disabilities. Essentially, our son requires help with daily organisation, meal preparation and outdoor activities. He attends school via correspondence and requires significant support in managing his daily tasks and overall school workload including assessments. He needs assistance and supervision when logging on for exams.
Our son is a fussy eater who is working towards independence when making meals, therefore meal preparation is required as well as teaching our son how to cook his own food. Daily exercise is critical, however he often resists this and so a supportive approach is best here.
Light household cleaning will be required such as cleaning dishes from the day, putting out a load of washing and ensuring our son's room is tidy. At the end of the day, the living area of the home needs to be left tidy.
