Looking for: Part-time,Casual Babysitting

I have hands on babysitting experience caring for a newborn baby and a 4 year old girl, which has given me a solid understanding of both infant care and early childhood needs. With the newborn, I managed feeding, soothing and nap routines, while with the older child, I supported daily activities, playtime and meal times. I'm patient, attentive and quick to respond calmly in any situation. I understand the importance of maintaining a safe, nurturing environment and following parent's routines and instructions closely. I'm reliable, punctual and genuinely enjoy spending time with children, which makes me confident in my ability to provide dependable, caring supervision.

Almost retired, and still with a lot of energy. This is a big reset for me (knowing that my circumstance , now with an older daughter who is already independent)have changed. Although I have no professional baby-sitting experience in my resume, I have to say I love being around children, and am proud to have cared for my daughter , and have helped raised and cared for a niece and a nephew. I like doing my domestic chores (a household of 3) from cleaning, gardening, vacuuming, ironing/laundry, cooking, bedroom grooming, and will be comfortable doing these for a job, on top of caring for the baby/children as a priority, with care and respect. I have a very reliable car, have been driving for the last 25 years(with a clean record), and I have a current Working With Children Certificate (WWC) as a volunteer. If it helps with my application, I am willing to go for a baby sitting trial even without pay. I am up for an interview and suggested trial as i understand the importance of blending well with the dynamics of your family life style/work/domestic requirements. I hope to hear from your soon.

Looking for: Part-time,Casual Babysitting

Hi there! I am very excited about meeting and getting to know you. ABOUT ME: I have been providing childcare over the past 22 years. The last 9 of those years, I have been a Nanny. I have worked with many different families: with 1-4 children; twins with a younger sibling, all girls, all boys, brothers & sisters; with an age range of 9mths - 12 years old. As all children & families are different I like to stay adaptable, to meet the needs of the unique situation. Some children are runners, some are quite contemplators, others always need to be crafting and creating big cardboard constructions, while another is quite happy to sit while colouring in and drawing for hours on end. However they all ask questions non stop, lols. And I love that because of their curiosity I learn as well; from having to google the answers to the questions I don’t know, e.g. I now know the oldest living animal is the Greenland shark, and it is guessed to have a lifespan of 250-500 yrs. With the current oldest one guessed to be 300 years old! But I only learned this because one child I looked after LOVED the ocean and all its wonders. :) I find I lean towards the Montessori Method of teaching children. I follow the theme of their current interest for play, games and conversations, and I like to incorporate their current obsession, be it space or dinosaurs into our word & math games and everything else we do together. MORNING ROUTINE; breakfast, lunch boxes, school bag packing, day-care/kinder/school drop offs -For the little ones when at home and not at daycare/kindy. I like to have our week planned. Be it excursions to the zoo, park, an indoor play center, library time or classes that helps their development: that the parents have enrolled them into, or I have found that the Mum’s & Dad’s like; e.g. Gymbaroo, Ready steady go, All Sports etc., to activities we can do at the house like baking or painting or even a playdate with their friend/s. HOUSE MANAGEMENT; groceries, maintenance of pantry & basic medicine (ie expiry dates & organisation), light laundry duties, light house keeping, tiding up after myself & the little ones, keeping the kitchen clean & hygienic, school holiday & pupil free day planning, meal planning, food & meal prep (dietary requirements taken into consideration) multi-tasking and other Ad-Hoc tasks. AFTERNOON ROUTINE; networking with other parents & carers at the children’s school- that the children are friends with or do extra curriculum’s with, extracurricular coordination (this is where the networking can sometimes help with car pooling & swapping weeks), planning of play dates, supervise-assistance with homework and practice for their extra curriculum’s. With additional extras from me if wanted/needed or time permits (eg. Music theory, maths etc.) ***I have help children further develop their music skills with my attention and knowledge than what they receive in a 30min class once a week. And I have helped with further development of their Math & literacy skills. HOWEVER my proudest achievement was somehow managing to help my French charge (when an AuPair in Paris) go from an almost F (from her former AuPair) in her French Class to an A. While I was only at a very basic beginner level with my own French skills. * haven’t figuered out how/where to add this in yet. So I’m just plopping it in for now. I gained experience with home schooling during COVID from 2020-2022. With all the families I worked with during all the Melbourne lockdown peroids. EVENING ROUTINE; Shower/bath time, dinner, oral hygiene, an evening game (if time permits) and attend their unique bedtime routine. HISTORY SUMMARY: •2002-2008 I started child caring when I was 14: for my piano teacher’s son. I cared for him 3 days a week, (after school) from the age of 2-8, while his mother worked from home: I had to master the skill of noise level control, while I was young & noisy myself. •2003-2005 Once I was 16 I began to babysit for other families during the evenings & weekends. •2006-2009 Durning my tertiary studies I babysat casually between my part-time job and classes. •2010-2015 I babysat and assisted as a mother's helper, whilst working 4 part-time jobs. •2016-2017 I was an AuPair in Paris. And fell in LOVE with France. •2017-2017 Back in Melb; I did causal & part-time child-care, for families with babies, toddlers & preschoolers. Until I found a family that needed a Full-time Nanny. • July 2017-July 2020: F/T Nanny—4 Days a week: Full Days, for a family of 5; 3 girls aged: 3-7, 7-10 & 9-12. • Feb 2021-Aug 2021: Temp P/T Nanny—5 Days a week: Split days, for a family of 4; 1 boy aged 9 & girl aged 7. • Aug 2021-Sept 2021: Temp P/T Relief Nanny—3 Days a week: Full days, for a family of 5; 3 boys aged 8, 5 & a 22mths old. • Sept 2021-Dec 2024: F/T Nanny—5 Days a week: 2 Full & 3 Half days, for a family of 4: 2 boys aged 2.5-5 & 5-9. (Only 2 full days in Sept 2021, 3 full days from Oct. The 2 half days added in Jan 2022). • Oct 2021-Dec 2021: Transition Nanny (waiting for a daycare spot) —2 days a week: Full days, for family of 3: 1 boy of 10-12 mths. •Feb 2025-Apr 2025: P/T Nanny—3 Days a week: 3 Full days for a blended family of 6: 2 girls aged 12 (not twins) and 2 boys aged 10 & 14 ESSENTIALS: - Valid Victorian Drivers Licence - WWCC: exp. 26/10/2028 - Police Check: exp. 20.09.25 - Level 2: First Aid (inclusive: Asthma, CPR exp. Looking for: Part-time,Casual Babysitting

Hey families, My name is Marnie, and I'm 35, and I have over 19 years of experience in teaching, childcare and nannying and find these roles both professionally rewarding as well as consistent with my personal values. In addition, I have a Bachelor of Education (Primary), Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care, and a Certificate 3 in Children's Services. Over the past four years, I have been a classroom teacher at a primary school in Brighton East. My role as a teacher has encompassed various aspects of children’s academic, social, and emotional growth. Being a teacher is incredibly rewarding. Not only do you see students’ growth and progress academically, but you can build connections, make a meaningful difference and leave a long-lasting impact on these students' lives. I have a deep understanding of child development, learning styles, and age-appropriate activities. This knowledge allowed me to create engaging and educational experiences for children in my care. I have experience in managing various classrooms and working with diverse groups of students honing my ability to handle different behaviours and adapt to individual needs, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for the children I care for. But there is one thing I truly miss, caring for children in their home. Being that person in a household who is spreading kindness, care, and support. Before becoming a primary school teacher, I was a nanny. I have worked for several families within Australia and internationally (USA and Canada). My responsibilities included caring for newborn twins, and older children, following routines (including sleep patterns, feeding, and bathing), assisting with household cleaning, driving children to and from after-school activities, assisting with homework, and maintaining close communication with parents. Whilst I was studying for my Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care, where I was successful in gaining a scholarship through Swinburne University of Technology, to go to Vietnam. During this visit, I was volunteering in Hanoi, teaching English to prep-aged children. It was a fantastic experience and extended my childcare experience, as well as providing learning experiences in another culture, and participating in their usual day-to-day life activities. Prior to this experience, I was a nanny in America. This position involved living-in with a family in New Jersey, USA where I cared for their two children (girls now aged 4 and 8). Living full-time in the family house meant that it was important that my approach and behaviours aligned with the rules and principles of the family. I've also taken on additional roles working with children, such as a Ski Instructor at Mt Buller Ski Resort and an Assistant Educator at Explorer’s Early Learning Centre. These positions showcase my proficiency and professionalism in the field. I have a mature, responsible, and professional way of caring for children and I pride myself on creating a positive, happy environment in which children can thrive. As I'm a primary school teacher, I would not be able to start exactly at 3:30 pm, as that's when our school day ends. However, depending on where you're located, I could get there by 3:45-4:00 pm on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. We have meetings on Mondays and Tuesdays, so I wouldn't be able to start until 5:00 pm.
