Nanny / Carer
We are seeking a part-time support worker (part nanny and part carer) to assist in the care of our charming son who lives with a rare condition and has a physical and intellectual disability.
Our family consists of mum, dad, and a 10-year-old boy who attends the local primary school. We are currently supported by long term employee and this role will be in addition to this and will provide additional cover and additional working hours for parents. On the job training will be provided.
Typical Working Day Includes:
Support with dressing and bathing
Entertaining, homework, and reading
Meal preparation
Driving or walking to and from school
Household administration
Assisting with specialized areas including personal hygiene (changing nappies)
Supporting delivery of allied health support including physio and speech therapy
Immediate Start:
Available for the right person, subject to references.
Requirements:
Physically fit, strong, and fundamentally reliable to facilitate inclusion and help our son live his best life
Fluent in English (speaking, reading, and writing)
Driver’s License with competence and practice on Australian roads
Willingness to learn on the job, including supporting ongoing physical rehab and other development-based skills
Verifiable and contactable references (x3)
Working with Children Check
Existing legal ability to work in Australia (no sponsorship)
Family Overview: We are a single-child family with working parents. We are always under time pressure but have a good level of existing support, including a cleaner (light cleaning and tidying are required as part of the job).
Hours:
Mornings: 7:30 - 9:30 am
Afternoons: 12 - 6 pm
The number of hours and arrangements are flexible for the right person (or persons), with a minimum of 10-15 hours per week (job share) and a total of up to 25 hours.
Salary and Pay:
Generous hourly rate as negotiated, depending on skills
You will be employed as an independent contractor.
