Meet Lucy: A nanny and babysitter in St Kilda East, VIC

EXPERIENCED PRIMARY TEACHER AVAILABLE FOR TUTORING 🌟

Hi there! 😊

I’m an enthusiastic, experienced and reliable primary teacher, currently working part-time in Year 2, and I’m available for tutoring in literacy and/or maths, as well as school readiness for 4-year-old kindergarten children. I can provide support for children who need a little extra help, as well as extension work for children who are ready for a challenge.

I have 10 years’ teaching experience across Foundation to Year 5, with a particular passion for the early years. I am Multisensory Structured Language (MSL) trained and have also worked as an MSL tutor within my school, supporting students with dyslexia and other literacy difficulties.

I use an evidence-based structured literacy/phonics approach to help children develop strong foundations in reading, spelling and writing. For maths, I use a hands-on approach, linking concrete materials and visual representations to abstract mathematical concepts to help children develop genuine understanding.

In addition to my 10 years as a teacher, I have previously worked as a private tutor (4 years), nanny (5 years), swim teacher and babysitter (15 years). As a mum myself, I also understand the importance of finding someone you can trust with your child and who genuinely gets to know them. Children find me warm, approachable and encouraging, while parents often describe me as diligent, reliable and kind.

As a qualified teacher, I hold all relevant checks and certifications, including WWCC, police check, Level 2 First Aid, asthma and anaphylaxis training and COVID vaccinations.
