Meet Sophie: A nanny in Clyde North, VIC

I am a passionate Early Childhood Educator and Room Leader with five years of experience supporting children from infancy through to early primary age in early learning environments. I hold a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care and am currently in my final year of a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education and Primary Teaching (E334). My practice is influenced by the Reggio Emilia approach, the Curiosity Approach, and sociocultural perspectives such as those of Lev Vygotsky, with a strong focus on inquiry-based learning, child-led exploration, and creating nurturing environments where children feel safe, capable, and confident to learn. Alongside my work in early childhood education, I spent 15 months living in Italy as a live-in nanny caring for a toddler and supporting a family with a newborn. This experience deepened my appreciation for personalised, relationship-based care within the family home. I am a positive and caring person who is passionate about supporting children’s early development and building meaningful relationships with the families I work with.
