Meet Alana: A nanny and babysitter in Eumemmerring, VIC

Hi, my name is Alana! I am a 20-year-old student currently studying a Bachelor of Early Childhood and Primary Education at Deakin University. I absolutely adore children and find working with them incredibly rewarding. I have experience working with children aged 0–5 through various placements in long day care centres and sessional kindergartens. I also have hands-on experience with children aged 6–12 through my role as an after-school care educator in a primary school setting.

I place strong value on building genuine connections with children and their families, as I believe these relationships are essential for creating a supportive and fun environment. I am kind, nurturing, patient, and dedicated to ensuring children feel safe and comfortable so they have the best opportunity to learn and grow. Through my studies in early childhood and primary education, I also have a strong understanding of developmental milestones and how to create engaging, age-appropriate activities.

In my spare time, I love baking and even run my own small baking business where I cater for various customers. Baking has been a passion of mine since I was seven years old, and it is one of my favourite activities to share with children. I also enjoy reading, painting, singing, and recently started dancing.
