Meet Paris: A nanny in St Kilda, VIC

Hi Parents!

I’m a 30-year-old professional nanny based in St Kilda, where I share my home with three Australian budgies. Coming from a large family, I’m lucky to have five nieces and two nephews who keep things fun and lively! What started as casual babysitting sparked a deep passion for childhood development and supporting families in creating balanced, efficient households. This passion has led me to a rewarding career as a nanny. With seven years of experience, I’ve had the pleasure of working with children ranging from 9 months to 16 years old.

My first professional role involved working 30 hours a week with two wonderful girls, aged 3 and 6. My responsibilities included all transportation to and from school and after-school activities, assisting with homework, and providing engaging entertainment through arts and crafts, dance classes, and other fun activities. I also prepared dinner (I love to cook!), managed bath and bedtime routines, and handled light household duties like laundry and home organisation. In addition, I helped with errands such as grocery shopping, dry cleaning, post office duties and taking their dog for walks.

I’ve had the privilege of working with a variety of families throughout my career. One of my roles involved caring for three older children— a 9-year-old girl, an 11-year-old boy, and a 13-year-old boy. My responsibilities included providing safe transportation to and from after-school activities, assisting with homework, and ensuring they had everything they needed for the next day’s activities. I also prepared lunch boxes, cooked delicious meals and maintained a fun and engaging environment for the kids with baking and various board games.

In addition to my nannying experience, I’ve worked as a chaperone for Kidz On Set, ensuring the safety and well-being of children on set and backstage during productions. I was also a dance coach at Haileybury College, teaching students from Prep through to Year 10. I currently hold a valid Working With Children Check, Police Check, full driver’s licence, my own car, and First Aid certification, including CPR. I’m also an animal lover, particularly fond of dogs and cats!

Earlier in my career, I spent two years working with two ambitious boys, aged 9 months and 3 years. This experience helped me develop my skills in infant care, ensuring their happiness and health while providing a nurturing and structured environment. My duties included managing household cleanliness, laundry, cooking balanced meals, maintaining nap and bedtime routines, and organising outings to libraries and parks. I also created sensory and developmental activities to promote their emotional and cognitive development.

Currently, I’m working with three school-aged children and looking for a new family to start with in 2025. Ideally, I’d love to find a role of 25+ hours a week, spread across 4 or 5 days, with a long-term commitment. I believe it’s important for children to have a reliable, committed nanny who can adapt to the family’s needs and I’m excited for the opportunity to bring my skills and experience to a new family.
