Meet Amanda: A nanny and babysitter in Wattle Grove, WA

Hi my name is Amanda, I am a Mother of 3 and I have over 30 years experience working in the Community Services Sector.

Some of my roles before becoming a Nanny include working in the Pilbara Region as an Education Assistant and then as a Youth Worker. When I returned to Perth my roles included working within the Aged Care and Disability Sectors.

It was important that I had extensive knowledge regarding developmental stages of children and teenagers to adapt and cater to each individual's needs.

During this time I developed programs to encourage children to use their imagination and to build foundations to problem solve through play. I also assisted teenagers with learning difficulties transition from high school by developing life skills programs.

I currently support two families: one caring for a year old girl, and another caring for a caring for a 2 year old girl and her 5 year old brother. I have also provided care as a private support worker for a teenager with autism, and worked as a nanny for a 5 month old while her mother transitioned back to work. Additionally, I proved holiday care for a 2 year.

I love tapping into my imagination to plan activities through creative play.

My approach is to allow rapports to develop naturally, creating a safe environment for trust and confidence to happen at a rate that each person is comfortable with.

I am a very active person who loves walking, paddle boarding, being in nature and I attend belly dance classes.

I believe I have a lot to offer families.
