Meet Marianna: A babysitter in Thornbury, VIC

Hi there!

I am currently 23 years old, living independently in Thornbury and have graduated from RMIT (2023) studying a Bachelor of Criminology and Psychology. I am currently looking for casual babysitting opportunities before I start looking for roles in my career (in 2025/2026).

I have previously looked after a family with 3 children (aged 8-13, from Feb-Dec 2022), and I am currently nannying for a family with 2 kids aged 10 & 12 (January 2024-current). I have also had many casual babysitting opportunities looking after toddlers and tweens (Dec 2021-current). I have limited experience working with children under the age of 1. I can provide references for these experiences :)

I am after work that is rewarding, and allows me to form greater connections to those that I am supporting. My aspiration is to work in a counselling or case management setting that works with vulnerable families and youth/children. I have previously worked in a psychologist’s office where I assisted children with additional needs in their activities, and sat into occupational therapy sessions. I hope to bring the things I have learnt in this role with me!

In addition to my part time work as a nanny, I am currently a Peer Mentor volunteer at Kids First, and a Crisis Supporter Volunteer at Lifeline.

I am also an experienced pet sitter and dog walker, so I would be happy to help out with any pets as well.

I am fully vaccinated (up to date boosters as well), have a WWCC, a police check issued in September of 2024, with a full and current driver’s license.
