Meet Dionne: A nanny and babysitter in Mount Hawthorn, WA

Hello, I’m Dionne :)

I’ve been working with children of all ages for the past 14 years as both a nanny and an Early Childhood Educator. My background in early childhood education, combined with years of hands-on experience, has given me a strong understanding of child development and the importance of creating a safe, nurturing and engaging environment where children can thrive.

I completed most of a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (specialising in Diversity) through Edith Cowan University and now hold an ACECQA-approved equivalent qualification. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of supporting children and families from a wide range of backgrounds, and I genuinely value building strong, trusting relationships with both children and parents.

I believe every child is unique and deserves to feel seen, understood and encouraged to be themselves. I love following children’s interests, supporting their independence and confidence, and creating meaningful learning experiences through play, creativity and everyday life. Whether we’re exploring outdoors, reading stories, creating art, baking together or simply sharing conversations, my goal is always to help children feel safe, capable and happy.

One of my strengths is my calm and patient nature. I have a deep understanding of children’s behaviour and recognise that behaviour is a form of communication. I respond with empathy, consistency and clear boundaries, helping children work through challenges while supporting their emotional development.

Alongside nannying, I also work as a holistic therapist, and I find the two roles complement one another beautifully. Both require compassion, presence, excellent communication and the ability to build genuine, trusting relationships—qualities I naturally bring into the families I work with.

I understand what a privilege it is to care for someone else’s children and never take that responsibility lightly. My priority is always to provide a safe, loving and dependable environment where children can flourish while giving parents complete peace of mind.
