Hi, I'm Mika.
I'm a nanny and babysitter based in Melbourne with several years of experience caring for children of all ages, from babies and toddlers through to school-aged kids. I grew up in a big family and spent a lot of time helping look after younger cousins and siblings, so caring for kids has always come naturally to me.
I love keeping the days fun and active. Whether that's crafts, reading, imaginative play at home, or getting out to the park, beach, library or playgroup, I think kids do best when they're engaged and a bit tuckered out by the end of the day. I'm comfortable with the practical side too, including feeding, nap routines, bath and bedtime, school drop-offs and pick-ups, and helping with homework for the older ones.
I'd describe myself as calm, patient and easygoing, which I think matters most when you're with little people all day. I'm also organised and tidy by nature, so I'm happy to help around the home with things like meal prep, baking, laundry, dishes and general tidying. I tend to notice what needs doing and just get on with it.
Alongside babysitting, I'm currently studying Interior Design, which keeps me creative and good at thinking on my feet.
I have my Working With Children Check and a full driver's licence, and references are available on request. I'm looking for ongoing work with families I can become a familiar, trusted part of.
