I am a qualified Education Support Worker and experienced Disability Support Worker with a strong background working with children and teenagers of all abilities across school, home, and community settings. I have worked within schools supporting students in the classroom, as well as in more one-on-one and community-based roles, which has given me a well-rounded understanding of children developmental, emotional, and behavioural needs.
I am a fun, reliable, and caring individual who genuinely enjoys spending time with kids and building meaningful connections with both children and their families. One of my key strengths is being able to quickly build rapport and create a safe, comfortable environment where children feel supported, understood, and encouraged to be themselves.
I have strong experience in developing and planning age-appropriate, engaging, and fun activities that not only keep children entertained but also support their learning, creativity, and confidence. I enjoy creating structured day plans that balance play, routine, and learning, helping children develop their personality, social skills, and independence in a natural and enjoyable way.
Through my work, I have supported children with a range of additional needs, including autism spectrum disorder, intellectual and physical disabilities, and behavioural challenges. This has strengthened my ability to use behaviour management strategies, including de-escalation techniques, routine-based support, and sensory-informed approaches, while always remaining calm, patient, and adaptable.
I am also confident in assisting with daily household tasks such as cooking and cleaning, and I like to involve children in these activities where appropriate to help build their independence and life skills. I take pride in being organised, flexible, and dependable, and I am able to adapt easily to different family routines and environments while maintaining a positive and supportive presence.
Overall, I bring a balanced approach of care, structure, and fun.
