Hello! My name is Arshi, I am a paediatric and neonatal registered nurse (working with kids and babies) with 3 + year’s experience as an RN. I work on a casual contract meaning I can chose and pick up my own shifts in the week, therefore I can be flexible during the week. I have recently decided to pick up babysitting/nannying as I have changed to casual work in this stage of my career and would love to connect with families with little ones who just need a helping hand. I usually set a schedule for activities to keep our minds and body active such as drawing, colouring, building blocks, music, making/creating jewellery, origami and just getting outside to kick or throw a ball. And for babies, ensuring their development is progressing by using interactive toys, soothing music, tummy time, teething, play mats, adequate awake/rest periods etc depending on age. I am very confident in bottle feeding, swaddling, settling and nappy changes, and have 1+ years of experience with newborn babies and those that may have compromised health having worked in the special care nursery ward. I am up to date with all my paediatric and neonatal CPR as well as the advanced resuscitation courses in both areas. I can be flexible throughout the week and the occasional weekend and/or Friday night with plenty of notice. I am also very very dog friendly as I have my own beautiful and well trained German shepherd at home so no need to worry if you have furry friends.

I am a diploma qualified early childhood educator currently working at Little Flyers Childcare in Eltham North and have done so for many years as a casual. My most recent nannying experience was for a family with 3yr old twins when I stared with them, 2 days a week, this was through Covid and the children started school last year. Do you realise how hard it is to write about yourself, to be able to say what you want about yourself so that you as a parent feel comfortable to contact me as a perspective nanny? I have been working in child care since Dec '89, I've worked both in long day care (mainly in the kinder room, 3-5yr olds) and as a Nanny I worked with ages ranging from newborns to a 15yr old (she now is 34yr old - yikes !!) I'd really like to go back to working with a family with a newborn (or newly born) so in 2016 I went back to study and did a Newborn Specialist Course to keep my skills updated While working in long day care I've also had the privilege of looking after a few children with disabilities. I have my Certificate III & Diploma in Children's Services, Newborn Specialist Course, First Aid & CPR and Working with Children Check (WWCC) - and I'm sure there is something I've forgotten !! Out of work hours I enjoy reading and making things, I'm very a very crafty person, just wait till you see and eat my gingerbread creations at Christmas time. Ever since I was younger, I've always been told that I'm great with kids, and I've always been really interested in being a nanny or babysitter.
