Hi there,
I have several years of experience working as a nanny and an au pair, I am confident in my ability to provide a nurturing, supportive and fun environment for your little one. I am also the eldest of four, and have played the role of 'nanny' for quite a few years before I was paid for it !
My experience as a nanny began when I took on the responsibility of looking after three children between the ages of 11 months to 7 years old, for a period of 6 months. I was in charge of meal preparation, coordinating educational and recreational activities amongst other daily tasks.
Following this, I had the opportunity to work as an au pair in Byron Bay (Australia) for over two years. During my time there, I became an integral part of the family, providing support with daily routines, school runs and fostering their son's emotional and intellectual growth.
For some time now, I have been writing and illustrating children's stories - the kids are a great feedback source (!!) and it's been really fun discovering stories with them that seem to have a lasting effect.
One of the most rewarding experiences during my time as a nanny was working with a little girl with autism for the summer. The role required me to be even more patient, empathetic and resourceful in creating an inclusive and engaging environment that catered to her unique needs. I learned how to tailor activities that would promote sensory engagement, social interaction and emotional well-being, which significantly enhanced my understanding of child development and behaviour management.
In addition to these full time positions, I have also undertaken numerous babysitting and ad hoc nannying roles over the years. These experiences have given me the flexibility to adapt to various family dynamics and the confidence to handle a wide range of childcare responsibilities.
I am passionate about childcare and take pride in creating a safe, loving and stimulating environment for children. I am excited about the possibility of bringing my experience and skills to your family to help contribute to your child's safety and happiness.
Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to the opportunity to discuss how I can meet your family's needs and provide exceptional care for your little one.
Many thanks and all the best,
Georgie
