I'm after a regular sitter for my son, 11. One or two afternoons a week (flexible on which days), about 3.30 to 6.30 or 7pm, plus the occasional weekend.
He's auADHD but he's pretty independent, so it's an easy gig. He's a smart, funny kid who loves gaming and fun facts, and he has a special interest that changes week to week. Chess for a while, then golf, then table tennis, rock climbing, boxing ...you get the picture. You'd want to be someone who's happy to join in on whatever the current thing is.
If you're into gaming or full of random facts yourself, or have a special interest activity you two will get along.
He's been having his afternoons to himself lately and quite likes it, so part of the job is getting him off screens and doing stuff together. He'd game all afternoon if nobody stopped him.
Day to day it's pretty simple: hang out with him, make him some dinner, tidy the kitchen after.
If you've spent time around neurodivergent kids through work, family or your own experience, that's a big plus. He also has NDIS community participation funding, so if you're a qualified support worker or have an ABN activities and outings can be billed at support rates.
I'm a solo parent looking for someone ongoing and reliable, ideally a familiar face he ends up looking forward to.
If that sounds like you, tell me a bit about yourself and what days you're free.
