We are looking for an au pair who is able to help with our girls in Sydney (Bellevue Hill) Monday through Friday for 5--8 hours per day and ideally also travel with my wife and kids from Sydney to Los Angeles around March 1 and then potentially help us with the kids for some time before returning to Sydney. We are looking for someone kind and responsible to help us with our two children (13 and 11 years old) weekly, three afternoons per week (Tues, Wed, Thurs) from 3pm to 7pm. - bringing in washing if required;

It’s essential you have your drivers licence and own car (or one you could use); or drive our (manual) car and that you are a responsible and safe driver.

You will need a drivers licence and have a minimum of 2 years driving experience. The role will involve collecting the kids from school and/or the local bus stop. On some afternoons the kids have afternoon activities that you will need to help get them to and from. Otherwise, the role involves supervising the kids at home and preparing an easy dinner and helping to bath/shower our 5-year-old and get her ready for bed.
The job also involves light tidying up/keeping the house in order. We have a regular cleaner so you are not expected to be a cleaner, just helping out to keep the household running:) Our kids do have their own chores (like unpacking the dishwasher, setting the table - and our 12 year old loves to help out with making dinner). However they do need reminding of their jobs and to tidy up after themselves - so you may need to help remind them:)
Our son is a funny, highly intelligent and warm hearted teenager who experiences daily challenges due to his ASD and ADHD diagnosis. He is highly verbal and often enjoys in depth conversations. He can at times become highly anxious and require support to manage his concerns. He has no physical disabilities. Essentially, our son requires help with daily organisation, meal preparation and outdoor activities. He attends school via correspondence and requires significant support in managing his daily tasks and overall school workload including assessments. He needs assistance and supervision when logging on for exams.
Our son is a fussy eater who is working towards independence when making meals, therefore meal preparation is required as well as teaching our son how to cook his own food. Daily exercise is critical, however he often resists this and so a supportive approach is best here.
Light household cleaning will be required such as cleaning dishes from the day, putting out a load of washing and ensuring our son's room is tidy. At the end of the day, the living area of the home needs to be left tidy.
Candidates must have an interest in working with neurodiverse teenagers. This role requires someone who is patient, kind and genuinely enjoys the company of teenagers.
