We're looking for a fun, energetic babysitter to help out with our two active boys, aged 3 and 5. They’re full of life, love being outside, building train tracks, bug catching, Lego creations, jumping on the trampoline and playing soccer. We’ve found that babysitters who really get down on their level and get involved in what they love tend to have the best time with them (and so do they).
When we need help:
> Every second weekend starting 5 April: Saturday and Sunday from around 12pm to 6 or 7pm, and possibly the Friday night 5-8pm as well.
> Thursdays: Every week, from about 5pm to 8pm.
We're open to casual arrangements—so if you’re only available for part of this, that’s fine. We can work around availability. We often try to split the boys up for some quality one-on-one time, so a sitter might take one while Dad (Paul) takes the other for some focused attention.
We also have a newborn baby in the house, but she’s primarily cared for by Mum (Hala), so you won’t need to help there. Just something to be aware of. We are looking for someone special to join our family to help with the day to day care of our delightful 1yo twins. Our eldest is in daycare full time. Our son is a funny, highly intelligent and warm hearted teenager who experiences daily challenges due to his ASD and ADHD diagnosis. He is highly verbal and often enjoys in depth conversations. He can at times become highly anxious and require support to manage his concerns. He has no physical disabilities. Essentially, our son requires help with daily organisation, meal preparation and outdoor activities. He attends school via correspondence and requires significant support in managing his daily tasks and overall school workload including assessments. He needs assistance and supervision when logging on for exams.
Our son is a fussy eater who is working towards independence when making meals, therefore meal preparation is required as well as teaching our son how to cook his own food. Daily exercise is critical, however he often resists this and so a supportive approach is best here.
Light household cleaning will be required such as cleaning dishes from the day, putting out a load of washing and ensuring our son's room is tidy. At the end of the day, the living area of the home needs to be left tidy.
Candidates must have an interest in working with neurodiverse teenagers. This role requires someone who is patient, kind and genuinely enjoys the company of teenagers.
