Dear Future Au Pair,
We’re excited to share a little about our family with you, as we are looking for someone wonderful to join us as an au pair from November 1st 2024 for short term or long term stay, if all goes well!
Our Family:
I’m Anthea, and my husband’s name is Jason. We have three beautiful girls— Alessia (Sia) who is 3.5 years old, and our twin girls, Anita (Nina) and Daniella (Dani) and, who are 18 months old. They would absolutely love having a "big sister" to join us!
Our eldest is a bundle of energy and curiosity—she attends daycare part-time and loves anything creative, from painting to dancing. She’s also quite the chatterbox and adores reading books and singing songs. The twins (who will be mainly looked after by you), being at that wonderful stage of learning to explore, are always on the move. They’re full of giggles, love playing together, and are just beginning to form their personalities—one is a bit more outgoing, while the other is more of an observer.
About Us:
I work as a fitness instructor and Jason works as a data and finance consultant. We both enjoy spending time outdoors, whether it's at the beach or having a relaxing BBQ. We’re passionate about living an active, balanced lifestyle, and we love to share that with our girls. Weekends often find us at the beach—just 15 minutes away from home—or enjoying the sunshine in our outside area, beach swims, or spending time with friends and family. We also enjoy exploring new places.
Our Home & Area:
We live just 10 minutes from the city in a lovely suburb called Balmain close to parks, shops, and a great community. You’ll have your own room with a TV, downstairs toilet, and a shared shower with the children. Our home is welcoming, with plenty of room for the kids to play both indoors and out, and we often have friends over for a BBQ or relaxed evening together.
What We’re Looking For in an Au Pair:
We’d love someone who is energetic, proactive, and enjoys singing, dancing, and exploring the world through the eyes of children. Our ideal au pair is neat and tidy, loves to cook, and has a driver’s license (we’d be happy to help with some extra practice if needed). You’d be helping out with the kids for approx. 35 hours per week, including one Saturday a month (we're flexible on the hours).
Your role would be a mix of caring for the children, helping with daycare drop-offs and pick-ups, cooking for the family, cleaning and tidying, and, most importantly, creating fun and engaging activities for the kids. We’d love someone who is warm, patient, and kind, with a sense of adventure.
A typical day might include walks with the twins, playtime at a park, and a trip to the library for story time. On weekends, we love to explore our surroundings, whether it’s the local beach, a park, or a family outing.
Our Journey:
We originally come from South Africa with Greek & Portuguese backgrounds, but Australia is very much our home now. We’ve lived abroad and traveled quite a bit, so we understand the excitement and challenges of living in a new place, and we’d love to share this experience with you.
Many Thanks
Anthea & Family
