We are a busy working family with two boys aged 13 and 7 looking for someone for a hybrid role of nannying / house help and to become an extension of our family.
Both of the boys are fairly independent, but will require transport to activities and some prompting to get ready / do homework and chores etc. Supervision will be mostly for my youngest, who has a bunch of personality, a cheeky sense of humour with an obsession with anything cars or truck related! He will quickly become your BFF if you play your cards right!
Experience with spectrum disorders (SPD, ADHD etc) would be highly advantageous! My youngest has some sensory sensitivities, and my eldest has ADHD, which is managed by medication. Having someone who has an understanding, or a compassion for these conditions would be extremely beneficial.
DUTIES:
• General house organising / tidying, unpacking dishwasher etc. We have a cleaner so no 'heavy cleaning' will be required
• Laundry (wash, dry, fold and iron as needed)
• Meal prep using HelloFresh, packing lunches, unpacking groceries etc
• Transporting kids to outside school activities
• General household management
• Occasional errands (such as click and collect etc)
Split AM/PM shifts approx. 20 hours per week, spread out across Monday to Thursday. You’ll have flexibility to fit the hours around your schedule, as long as key times are covered (usually 7am and 3:30pm). I am also open to splitting the role between two people (e.g. one for afternoon and one for morning) for the perfect person, but this would not be my preference.
We are looking for someone who can commit to a long-term role (minimum 6 months) and work on establishing a bond with our boys. Our ideal person would be someone who can take initiative and not just work from a list but can identify things that need doing and how to handle situations that arise. More than a babysitter, I basically want you to be 'me' when I am not here (and sometimes when I am!)
OUR IDEAL PERSON:
We would like someone who can be fun yet firm when needed, with a warm personality and a genuine caring nature. Organised and reliable is a must, and it is important that you like to create a tidy environment. The role includes dinner prep, so someone who takes pride in / enjoys cooking would be ideal!
You must have a reliable and safe vehicle, and we will only consider candidates who live in close proximity to Elanora. Given the split hours, the role would be well suited to a uni student, someone running their own ‘at-home’ business or with a second job.
You will also need an ABN (or willing to obtain one).
