I've since returned to a full-time job working administration in a paediatric healthcare setting. I moved to Melbourne when I began university at La Trobe, I'm studying a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) / Bachelor of Media and Communications (and loving every second of it). Since I was 14 I have worked as a babysitter caring for children ranging from newborns to early high school-aged children. Tasks that I undertook during this time were: changing nappies, bottle feedings, learning stimulated play (eg. tummy time for newborns, arts & crafts to engage fine motor movements and imaginary play), assisting with homework (eg. reading books with young children & helping older ages with tasks set by teachers) and home keeping tasks (cooking and cleaning). If I worked for your family I would love to create fun experiences for the children that also support their learning. This can be attending a trampoline park (active health, as well as social etiquette, can be learnt here), and other fun activities such as the zoo and aquarium would be an exciting adventure.
