I have past experience caring for four different families with children aged between 10 months and 5 and still care for them on a casual basis (they are now in primary/secondary school!) Hi families! My name is Crystal, and I’m a third year university student at Deakin University. I am currently studying the Bachelor of Biomedical Science, with the aim of getting into Medicine. I’m passionate about caring for others, which is reflected both in my studies and in the way I approach working with children (calm, attentive, loving). Over the past year, I have worked as an after-school and school holiday nanny for two boys aged 4 and 6. My afternoons with them have been spent doing trips to the playground and pool, baking, games and lots of outdoor play. I also joined the family on an overseas holiday, supporting the children and acting as an extra set of hands, so I’m very comfortable in both home and travel settings. In addition to this, I have very hands-on experience as a mother’s helper with my two nephews (currently 19 months and 15 weeks old). When my sister returned to work, I was responsible for sole care of her eldest from five months of age 2x days a week.
