Looking for: Part-time,Casual Babysitting

Availability - I'm currently working a few casual gigs, at x2 cafes and with x2 families, so my availability changes week to week. This may be suitable for people who need short-term or ad hoc help, but I'm also open to discussing committing to specific days of the week with those wanting full day care for little ones. My hourly rate depends on the hours, number and ages of the kids, and if you'd like housework done as well (which I'm more than happy to do). ----- Hey there, My name is Chloe and I've been nannying/babysitting for many years around the Bayside area. I nannied full-time for two separate families between June 2017 and August 2019 whilst completing my undergraduate studies, and have babysat for various families in the area since 2016. I'm currently working casually with two families, with the ages of the children ranging from 8 months to 8 years. I grew up in a big extended family (on both sides), and have always been surrounded by kids, toddlers and babies. I studied Nursing/Midwifery for a year after school, and whilst this wasn't the career for me in the end, I learnt a great deal in that year. I'm still very interested in childhood development and love getting to know kids of all ages; I think they can teach you great perspective and how to enjoy the little things in life. I also became an Auntie in Nov 2023 and have been helping my brother and SIL out with the little one ever since, so I’m very comfortable with babies and toddlers! My gorgeous niece is now 2.5 :) I'm involved in a school tutoring program for children living in the Collingwood and Richmond commission housing through Operation Stitches and am finding this extremely rewarding to be a part of. I tutor two Year 6 kids and it's been fantastic to watch them grow in both confidence and skills throughout the school year. A bit about me - I love to get out in nature as much as possible, enjoy gardening and tending to my ridiculous amount of indoor plants! I'm a huge animal lover, and volunteer with a rescue organisation which I absolutely love; they have a farm sanctuary in the Yarra Valley which I try to get to once a month. I also love to cook, head on walks with my 8 yo dog and I certainly get around a board game! I normally work in corporate sustainability but have decided to take time out of this career after being made redundant and I want to be transparent that I'm moving to the Netherlands in April of next year. Due to this I'm not a suitable match for families who are looking for a long-term commitment. I respect that many families want a long-term relationship built with their children, so it's best to be honest about my plans for next year! I have a WWCC, Police Check and First Aid and am happy to provide all of this to you if you'd like. I can also provide you with references, both current and past families. Feel free to get in touch! Thanks, Chloe

Hi! I’m Freya, an 18 year old who loves spending time with kids and creating a fun, safe, and positive environment for them. I’ve babysat for family friends and really enjoy getting to know each child, whether that’s playing games, helping with homework, or just keeping them company. I have a valid Working With Children Check, a driver’s licence, and a flexible schedule. I’m caring, reliable, and responsible, and my 10+ years of soccer have taught me patience, teamwork, and the importance of being someone others can count on. I’m also a huge animal lover, so I’m more than happy to help out with pets if your family has any. I’d love to help out your family and hopefully become someone you can rely on whenever you need an extra hand!

Hi, I am caring, reliable, and looking for part time work. I am currently studying nursing at Deakin Burwood, I love it because it is a career where you really get to help and care for people and their families, which is something I believe you can also find in babysitting which is why I am very interested in looking for part time work. I have babysat for many families with kids of all ages before, always making sure that the kids are well looked after and that the house is kept tidy for when the parents come home.

I’m a 34-year-old professional with a creative background. Originally from Hobart, I moved to Sydney at 18 to study musical theatre before coming to Melbourne to pursue a career in theatre. During that time, I worked in before and after school care. I later moved back to Hobart to be closer to family, where I co-ran a performing arts school teaching singing, dancing, and acting all ages. After a few years, I returned to Melbourne to continue pursuing theatre while also teaching singing. For the past 8 years, I’ve worked in the corporate insurance industry, which has strengthened my communication, and interpersonal skills, as well as my reliability, professionalism, and ability to remain calm under pressure. While the experience has been valuable, I’ve realised I’m looking for more meaningful and fulfilling work that feels connected to people and creativity. I’m recently engaged, live an active lifestyle with my beautiful 6-year-old Border Collie, and love cooking healthy, delicious meals. Although it’s been some time since I’ve worked with children professionally, I’m still very connected to family and friends with young children and know how naturally I connect with kids. I love encouraging imagination, curiosity, confidence, and creativity in a warm, nurturing, and engaging environment.

I'm an experienced nanny with a calm, professional approach. I am about to complete 9 months with my current family who I have been with since the twins were born. They are moving interstate so the role is coming to a natural end. I have secured a role nannying for Thursdays and Fridays but could potentially be free on Monday and/or Wednesday for a local role in Brighton. Apart from my current experience, I worked both as a live-in and live-out nanny in the UK, where I formed close, lasting relationships with the families and children in my care. I've also raised two children of my own, who are now young adults. Having been a working parent myself, I understand first-hand how much it matters to have a nanny who is reliable, consistent, and works in genuine partnership with the family. I take routines and parenting preferences seriously and bring both warmth and good judgment to everything I do. Earlier in my career I worked in complex HR roles, which has given me strong communication skills, discretion, and the ability to handle whatever a day throws at me with a level head. I have chosen to return to nannying because I genuinely enjoy working with children and supporting families. I hold a current Working with Children Check, a completed police check, up-to-date first aid certification, and am happy to provide references. We share our home with a border collie/golden retriever cross and a cat, so I'm very comfortable around pets and completely at ease in homes where animals are part of the family.

Hi, my name is Jess! I’m currently studying a Law and Psychology double degree at Monash University. I’ve always loved working with children and have built up a range of experience over the years. I started coaching basketball in middle school, working with my cousins prep boys team. I also coached a year 6 girls team from Year 10 to Year 12. These roles taught me patience, leadership, and how to adapt to different learning styles. For the past year, I’ve been coaching tennis at Melbourne Grammar School with students from prep to Year 4. This position has helped me develop strong communication skills, creativity in keeping lessons engaging, and the ability to manage groups of young children in a fun and safe way. Alongside coaching, I’ve also been babysitting since I was 14, regularly looking after my five younger cousins (now aged 4–10). As well as a babysitting 2 girls for over a year. Babysitting has strengthened my responsibility, organisation, and problem-solving skills, as well as my ability to connect with kids on their level. Having recently graduated from St Leonard’s College, I now have more availability and am excited to continue building on my experience supporting and caring for children in fun and positive ways.
