I have worked as a Nanny both here and overseas in the UK for a duration of 10 years. I seem to have a natural rapport with babies and young children, probably because I adore them. This was amazing experience working with these young minds with quirky personalities, encouraging them to learn and grow. Finding the balance of guiding them and prompting their own ideas and problem solving. I still enjoy the simple but important things about mothering and running a household; like simply being there, listening, validating a child's experience, playing, being creative, encouraging their creative skills and minds, right through to efficiently running a home, providing wholesome meals, including children in the cooking experience and the importance of feeding themselves well.
