Meet Rebecca: A nanny and babysitter in Newport, VIC

Hi!

My name is Rebecca and I am an 18-year-old Bachelor of Arts student majoring in Psychology and Education. I was born and raised in Wellington, New Zealand, and have moved over to Australia for my studies. My father is a Roman through and through, meaning travelling is in my genes: I have lived in Italy, England and Belgium for a lot of my life. I speak confident Italian and French, and have many years experience nannying for kids of ages 4 to 8 (some jobs required looking after children with special needs and no English language). My goal is to become a primary school teacher after completing a Masters in Primary Education. The thing I love the most about spending time with children is how no child is the same. It is the most amazing experience having a child show you who they are day by day, wanting to show you their ways, their favourite toys, their favourite games. This, in turn, builds a relationship and environment where we can teach each other things (like my favourite game: tidying up!). It is my favourite thing to build relationships with every child and help them celebrate their growth as a tiny human. After all, they do grow incredibly fast, and it would be my priviledge to be welcomed into any home and any child's journey. I come with four years nannying experience with multiple families, having been trusted looking after children from the young age of fourteen due to my maturity, consistent high praise from teachers and other adult-figures, time management, commitment and responsibility.
