Meet Grace: A nanny and babysitter in Beaumaris, VIC

Hi i am Grace, I have recently arrived in Australia from the UK after travelling around South east Asia for 3 months. I am currently staying in Beaumaris and looking for a nannying role in the area.

At home I am a family support practitioner, this role includes working along side families with children aged 0-18. In this role i worked closely with the children in a supportive and therapeutic manner in order to identify any needs and challenges they are facing and work with multiple agencies to apply change.

Alongside this i have been a qualified dance teacher for 8 years. In this role i have worked with children aged 3-18 creating a fun and safe learning environment. I am able to keep the focus and attention of 15+ students in a class while continuing to adhere to health and safety guidelines.

While at university, i worked part time as agency staff for multiple local nurseries. During this role i was a supporting member of staff for the nursery teachers. Here i learned various learning through play skills as well as supporting toddlers in developing their independence.

My most valuable asset to bring to nannying though, is the fact that i am the daughter of a foster carer. This means that for the past 9 years i have taken on the role of secondary carer and lived with children from newborn to teenagers. Through this I have developed a vast skill set in all aspects of caring for children, including bottle making/feeding, nappy changing, food weening, understanding of developmental milestones, ways in which to develop gross/fine motorskills, caring for children with neurodiversities, supporting children in building relationships with peers, the importance of routines and most importantly dealing with teenage hormones!
