Meet Anastasia: A nanny and babysitter in Kew, VIC

Hey! My name is Anastasia and I am a 26 year old Russian/American that recently moved to Melbourne on a work and travel visa. I am in the country for a limited period of time which is why I am looking for more temporary work in helping families that require occasional assistance. I have previously been an Au Pair, once in London with 2 boys aged 5 and 11 (2018) and secondly with a baby that was 10 months old, right here in Melbourne (2020). I would also confidently say that I have experience with all child appropriate age groups as I have a brother who is 11 years younger than me, so I have been through all the processes ranging from diaper changing, to potty training, solid food incorporation, etc.

My approach when taking care of children is to give them the space and freedom to get to know me and feel comfortable with me at their own pace rather then projecting a sense of superiority and making them feel like they have no choice but to listen to me and no be allowed to complain. Essentially, treating them like equals whilst also having the confident sense of being their temporary care giver so they don't begin to disrespect and do whatever they want. I can confidently say, I have been able to find that balance that works best for me but of course, there is also the need to properly access each individual child and see how and in what ways they react and behave.
