Some days will include drop off and pick up from local after school activity so car needed. I’m looking for someone to join my team as a support worker for a beautiful 10 year old boy with Norries Disease who is blind and has autism and an intellectual disability. Mainly looking for Sundays 3pm-8pm and school holidays with the possibility of increasing to a week night in the future as well. All training and ongoing support is provided by me so no need for prior experience but this is highly regarded. You would need to have a passion for working with children and learning new skills as well as the ability to stay calm when child is dysregulated and adapt to ongoing training and feedback. Someone who is either working in or aspiring to work in behaviour support, occupational therapy, speech therapy or physio therapy would be perfect for this role as we work closely with these therapies and integrate goals into what we do with the children on a daily basis. Please note a drivers licence and access to a car is essential for the role. We are looking for someone who can make a long term commitment of at last 1 year and the role requires regular weekly work with the child to be able to work with him on the school holidays so I am not able to accept applicants who are looking for temporary or solely school holiday work. They have vastly different personalities so you need to be able to speak with them and engage with them differently , creatively and compassionately and sometimes be a mediator ! It will really come down to how well you can interact with them and really how much they gravitate towards you.
Everything else that I would require is the standard police check , wwc , driving , responsibility and safety etc etc !
At the moment it is casual work moving into the holidays and then it’ll be regular !

My name is Natalia and I have an 8 year old son. He has autism but is high functioning. He is a beautiful sweet natured little boy and is in grade 2. He loves trains, Harry Potter and building lego.
My son finds attending Oosh (before and after school care at his school) overwhelming. Therefore I have received funding for someone to come Mon, Wed and Thurs 730 to 9 am and 330 to 530 pm. Must drive and have own car as it would involve taking him to and from school. I would pay petrol costs. Given he is eligible for funding the person must have an early child care qualification eg cert 3 in early childcare or currently studying it. If you do not hold this or working towards it I can’t hire you as funding criteria is strict about that. It should be relatively easy. He would be dressed and had breakfast before you arrive. It would involved playing with him, in the morning for a bit, then take him to school. We are a family of four, looking for an experienced infant nanny for TWO weekdays (can be flexible which days) per week of care for our baby daughter. She will be approximately six months old at the time of commencement in mid May 2025 - to support mother's return to work. Our eldest daughter is five years old and attends a local primary school - pick up from school by nanny not essential but would be helpful to have as a back up. We also have an eight year old greyhound who is very placid and sleeps all day.
Hours are also somewhat flexible but need to cover at least between 8:15am and 5pm on both days. We are ideally looking for someone who can commit to the position for at least 12 months.

We are a family of four, myself, my husband and two lovely girls, 8 and 11 yrs old (as well as an old cat and an old naughty dog). I have broken my foot and am unable to drive for the whole of the next school term. We looking for a nanny to start as soon as possible, to pick up our girls from school, bring them home, feed them arvo tea, make sure they practice their instruments and do their homework three afternoons a week. Ideally you would also prepare their (very simple) dinner two nights a week before I arrive home from work. Thursdays would be a shorter afternoon, just getting them to and from swimming and gymnastics which are situated nearby. We are looking for a wonderful addition to the family to help two busy working parents. We find it difficult to manage all the pick ups with our work schedules, + after school activities.
