Our daughter turned one in August and I'm returning to work. We're looking for a nanny experienced in the care of children around her age from Mondays through Thursdays, from around 8:45am-4:45pm. The start date is somewhat flexible. We'd be ready to employ someone as soon as we find a good fit for our family. Our daughter is a very social baby and has done well with other caregivers.

We also have a four year old son who will be at kinder / daycare during the day but may be home occasionally if unwell. In that case, we will be around to help care for him.

We are a professional couple working from home part time and it's likely one of us will be around most days working in our home office. We’ve found that our baby adapts quickly if we need to come into the common room, but we’ll try to stay out of your way at first so you can bond.

Our parenting style is pretty standard, tracking along current child development guidelines, though it probably most resembles the approach promoted by Big Little Feelings / Laura Markham / Becky Kennedy (and an endless well of parenting influencers - oh dear). At a super high level it's just about validating emotions and holding boundaries. We're always open to learning about new or different ways of doing things. We are happy to problem solve any issues that arise with you.

We're looking for someone who:

- has experience caring for babies around her age

- knows what to do in case of emergency and has basic first aid training

- communicates well with us

- is patient and empathetic

- seeks to understand our child, her personality, and needs

- can commit to work with us for at least a year

- can work Mondays through Thursdays, from about 8:45am - 4:45pm.

A plus if you're open to occasional evening or weekend babysitting.

We'd like you to:

- prepare her snacks and lunch and tidy up after her throughout the day

- settle her for naps

- take her on walks and outings

- play and support her growth and learning

- do light housework such as the baby's laundry and cleaning up after meals

Compensation is negotiable based on qualifications and experience.
