Looking for a highly organised, caring and fun person who can help our busy family with a combination of light housekeeping to keep our family & home organised during school hours, and supporting the school pick-up / after school routine for one full day per week (starting around 11am or earlier by negotiation)
We have a happy, content and inquisitive 2 year old and a confident, friendly and creative 6 year old. We also have an adorable small family dog (spaniel) who loves people so you must be comfortable dealing with her.
Regular hours would be Thursdays approximately 11am to 7pm, or later start by negotiation. Options of additional afternoons / evenings from time to time and potential but not requirement for additional hours during school holidays.
Our children form a bond with their nannies so we’d prefer it if you can commit to an ongoing regular schedule rather than a short term / casual placement.
We are located in Toorak with an easy stroll to shops, library, parks and playgrounds, 3 minutes from a tram stop and 10 minutes from the train station.
Our 2 year old child is very happy and relaxed, loves sensory play, music and getting outdoors. She attends daycare around a 15 minute drive from our home. We also have a 6 year old at a nearby school about 5 minutes drive / 10 minutes tram away. We will provide access to our car & car seat. Our 6 year old is very into music, stories, sport and games. My husband and I work full time, often from home, but are usually stuck at our desks most of the day.
During school hours we would like your help with mainly child-related light housework to keep our family and home organised. Eg sorting clean laundry, keeping toys & clothes organised, setting up / cleaning up activities such as painting or craft, preparing lunch box, putting away a grocery order, putting a pie or lasagne in oven for dinner. If you’ve got particular skills or interests in household management woud ove to hear about it! We have a longstanding weekly cleaner so you’re not expected to do do heavier cleaning. If youre happy to take our dog for a short walk that would be great too, but not essential.
From 3pm there will often be pick up from kinder and child care using our car, bringing the children home, run some fun after school activities eg games, craft, outdoor play, and then running the dinner / bathtime routine. Sometimes the kids will have play dates or be picked up by us, but usually still home by 5pm.
You would need to have a drivers licence, WWC and child first aid (though we are happy to support you in obtainjng first aid cert. for a auccessful candidate).
The right fit with us and our family is more important than your level of experience or qualifications, though references are preferred. We can also provide references for you to speak with other nannies who have worked with our family, we think its important that you are as happy with the fit as we are!
